Olaf Hajek is an internationally renowned and sought-after illustrator and visual artist and has, through countless works, developed his personal and frequently awarded style.
Olaf Hajek’s work is an exploration of the liminal space between imagination and reality in the context of western cultures. His intricate painterly compositions are rendered in acrylic on board and embrace influences as diverse as folklore, mythology, religion, history, and cartographic imagery.
Using distressed and exquisitely fine mark making to create rich surface patinas, Hajek explores wonder, heroic acts, hallucinations, and fairytale motifs, by relocating and recombining dreamlike versions of reality he imbeds his imagery within new and mystical connotative frameworks.
Through juxtaposing the human figure with an incandescent kaleidoscope of flora and fauna, Hajek’s surreal tableaux’s speculate on humanities fragile relationship with nature and its cycles of birth and death.

Friends of Be an Angel is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States that provides humanitarian aid, medical evacuations and social-emotional education for children, as well as crisis evacuations for civilians. They are part of the Be an Angel International network, which provides humanitarian relief and conducts crisis rescue operations in various conflict zones around the world.
This scarf is printed in a limited, numbered edition of 100. $100 from each sale of this scarf from March 19, 2024 to September 19, 2024 will be donated to Friends of Be An Angel. There will be a maximum donation of $10,000.
