How a little driving glove can rev up your wardrobe

Posted by Jplantz | November 05, 2009 | tags:

What could be cuter for Fall than a flattering little driving glove in a luxurious deep purple? Nothing! Whenever I hit the shopping racks to update my look, I always gravitate toward classic styles with a bit of an updated twist. And while driving-styled gloves are making a bit of a comeback in our pop-culture, their stylish demure has always reminded me of the sophistication and glamour of a Hollywood.  Picture a starlet, hair wrapped in a silky scarf, with her leading man driving an 1940’s convertible with buttery leather seats, humming down a windy road playing Billie Holiday.  Although this glove comes in a variety of colors, I decided the regal purple would be a great compliment to the neutral-colored trench coats and the bomber jackets I have lined up in my closet.  The color adds just enough pop so that I can re-vamp my fall wardrobe without having to go out and spend hundreds on a new coat or some sweaters. Best of all, the size and weight of these gloves won’t over-heat my hands on the mildly chilly days of mid-October (nobody likes clammy hands)! I am confidant that my new stylish little leather friends will be gracing my hands frequently…and not just when I plan on getting in the driver’s seat.  Enjoy! - Haley

Paris & Milan: Current trends Part 3 - Shopping in Milan

Posted by Jplantz | October 15, 2009 | tags:

After Paris, our designers flew to Milan to see what was in the stores.  They stopped in a beautiful store named 10 Corso como and, as Rachel Zoe would say, 'This store is bananas!'  The owner, Carla Sozanni, gets a lot of help and inspiration from her sister, Franca Sozzani, who has been the editor of Italian Vogue for the last 10 years. 10 Corso Como carries men's and women's apparel by designers such as Marni and Commes des Garcon as well as their own Corso Como brand, accessories (Tom Binn's jewelry) and must-have luxury goods.  If you're in Milan, make sure this is a stop on your shopping itinerary.

They also enjoyed Missoni's new collection which included large scale leaves, gold berets and chains, light-weight wool leggings layered with oversized cowl neck sweaters, fur bags, hats, fringes and colors of peach, blush and hints of blue.  They especially loved the oversized neck-warmers doubled and tripled and draped, and the amazing floor - length, chunky scarves with the fluffiest fringe you've ever laid eyes on!
